Hello my flower poppets. I’ve been short on time these past weeks so my writing has taken a backseat, I hope to resume my weekly posts soon, I do have lot’s to tell you from the garden. Today though, I wanted to let you know that you will be able to buy our flowers for Mothers Day from My Little Vintage in Olney on Saturday the 29th of March from 10.30. Lilly and I won’t actually be there in person this time, but the flowers will be in the shop to purchase directly through My Little Vintage. We will however be there on Friday the 25th of April set up in the window with what we hope will be a regular Friday Flowers slot so pop that in your diary. Olney is a lovey market town in Bedfordshire with lots of nice shops and places for lunch/coffee so it’s worth a visit! And from the 1st of April I will be having my ceramics and art in the store too.
I’m trying to get over an annoying cold at the moment but I have been enjoying the sunshine today. A gentle stroll around the garden to see all my nicely prepared beds completely trampled by Bella our last remaining chicken, she is going to have to live in her coop soon and not be free range for a while whilst I get things planted and big enough to withstand her. I wanted to transplant seedlings today but I simply did not have the energy- however, being in the garden did feel very restorative, maybe tomorrow I will feel up to it.
My larkspur seedlings are now popping up and I have about a 90% success rate with everything I’ve sown so I’m happy. I’ve just received a packet of wild carrot seeds and I still have some poppies to scatter in the gravel garden. I’m considering which perennials to invest in for the cutting garden. I really wanted to of released the dates for my flower and coffee mornings but I haven’t had a chance yet to look at the diary properly, I did put up a wall planner in the studio though so I am beginning to get organised.
Honestly, just spending ten minutes walking around the garden today really did lift my spirits, I even managed a small painting. Hopefully a peaceful evening will see me on the mend and I can get back to being busy and writing to you weekly.
Take care,
Emma.
