Tom Stuart-Smith, The Barn Garden.
NGS open gardens. A photo journal by Emma Connolly (A Bunch Of Wild).
My dear friends,
I had the pleasure of visiting the most wonderful garden by renowned garden designer Tom Stuart-Smith.
I first visited the Serge Hill estate in Bedmond in what I think must of been 2018. This garden is one of the reasons we bought Potters Cottage, the desire to have more garden, more natural space. Our own mini meadow and copse. It is the inspiration behind my planting choices and I wanted to share with you some of my favourite images taken over the weekend.
A contemporary yet natural combination makes this garden design really sing and it’s the beautiful choice of planting against wonderful garden buildings that I love so much!
My Mr marvelling at the design and planting.
The garden is open for groups and private tours. They also offer some amazing days with lunch included. Serge Hill is also open for selected days as part of the NGS.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my photos and taken some inspiration maybe for your own garden. I know I found it incredibly inspiring and have take away lots of ideas for Potters Cottage. We’ll see how I get on.
Don’t forget, if you enjoy reading my substack and my photos then please share it with a friend. Thanks.
